Mission of Education

The mission of education of the United Centers for Spiritual Living is to present Science of Mind - a philosophy, a faith, a way of life - as an exciting, contemporary educational model through which learners fully experience the spiritual reality of their being.  This model includes curriculum that integrates the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of contemporary living, is communicated in modern language and based on a developmental sequence for evolving consciousness.

SACRED CIRCLE CLASSES: Sponsored by United Centers for Spiritual Living

These are 6 to 10 week classes for use in study groups or small groups within the larger community. Each contains a guided meditation, discussion questions and an experiential exercise. They are basic and general enough for a person unfamiliar with Religious Science to be comfortable with the teachings. There is no homework!

THE POWER OF YOUR WORD ~ Come investigate the Power of Your Word and learn to integrate your hidden beliefs with your conscious prayers, for an empowered, conscious life. Wednesday evenings from 6:00p-9:00p ~ beginning June 30th 2010~ at our Russ Street office. This 8 week course focuses on two types of prayer ~ our conscious, direct prayers, and those unconscious, indirect prayers that we make from our unknown/hidden beliefs. Class tuition is $96.00 + a $10.00 workbook fee. No text required. Facilitator: Pamela Kelley, RScP ~ call 445-9159 for information.

SPIRIT BUILDERS CLUB: Meet with others every Sunday, 11:30 for 20-30 minutes starting Jan. 3, 2010 for quick, easy, exciting lessons from Science of Mind Skills. Great for those who are new to Religious Science as well as those who want a refresher in Religious Science principles. A "love offering" goes to the Practitioner Fund.

LIFE PATTERNS: an 8-week class is starting Monday, April 26, 2010, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eureka CSL class site, 514 Russ St., Eureka. This powerful class expands on The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and helps you embody your personal integrity. VISIONING CLASS: The purpose of this course is to awaken to the transformational nature of Visioning, to learn the Visioning Process, to understand the organic nature of manifestation and to be aware of its implementation in our spiritual community.

8 Weeks, begins Thursday, July 1st and ends August 26th. 6-9pm, Russ St. Office. No books required. Workbook furnished. $151.00 total with certificate. Bobbie Finster, Rev. Wayna Scovell, facilitators.

MEDITATION IS MORE THAN YOU THINK: by Rev. Donald Graves 8 weeks

This is an introductory meditation class but moves step by step through the powerful tool of meditation in many different modalities. Topics include meditation with light, mantras, sound, movement, breathing and more.

NEW FOUNDATIONS OF THE SCIENCE OF MIND: 10 weeks.

This is a revision and widely updated new version of Foundations class. It presents a new spiritual principle each week and a spiritual practice to support that principle. The Creative Process is introduced at the beginning of the class and flows through each week.

THE ESSENTIAL ERNEST: by Dr. Jesse Jennings 10 weeks

This class is a loving tribute to Dr. Ernest Holmes and all of the wisdom he brought to our world. The course is based upon What We Believe and each week the student has the opportunity to examine these ideas and uncover ways to make the power of this teaching come alive in their life. Each week has a meditation on light that takes the student progressively deeper and deeper into the light to find inner truth.

THE POWER OF YOUR WORD: by Rev. Pat Hightower 8 weeks

This is an amazing class on the power of Spiritual Mind Treatment. Each week is a thoughtful approach to the deeper understandings of prayer: How does the nature of God and man create prayer, the impact of creative law and beliefs, what to pray for,


Exploring Roots  - This class provides the student with an understanding of the historical roots of Ernest Holmes' philosophy.  Specific emphasis will be given to the works of Thomas Troward, Emma Curtis Hopkins and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Length of class:  10 weeks
Certification hours:  30
Textbooks:  The Science of Mind, Emerson's Essays, Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science, Scientific Christian Mental Practice and workbook.
Tuition:  $135.00 plus books

Practical Mysticism -This class is an exploration of mysticism - what it is and what it is not; and provides the framework for the student to live a more mystical life in present time.  Each student sets personal intentions for their own life.  Emphasis is given to the practice of meditation and the practice of witnessing consciousness.  This class is ideal for anyone seeking to deepen their own awareness of the Divine reality of this life.

The Mind Body Connection - This course is designed to offer a greater understanding of the mind/body connection and the important role consciousness  plays in the healing process.  Clear, step by step classes that begin with principle, deal with the emotional issues surrounding the body, give emphasis to effective prayer, unlearning old concepts of duality and disease and even practical consideration such as locating health professionals who support your belief systems.  Ideal for the beginner or the advanced student who desires a deeper understanding of physical healing.  Successful completion of the Foundational Class is a requirement.

Financial Freedom - This class contains in-depth material that allows the student to examine their personal belief systems and gain a new perspective of how these are at work in their lives.  Interplay of thought, emotions, desire, action, spirit and all facets of being, work together to create a new level of well being and abundance in the individual life.
Length of Class:  8 weeks
Certification hours:  25
Textbook:  A comprehensive workbook and creative exercises are included.
Tuition:  $150.00 includes workbook

The Principles of Successful Living - The course is designed to give the student a greater understanding of his/her place in the Spiritual System and the part that consciousness plays in demonstrating greater good.  This class offers the opportunity to set an intention for concrete demonstrations of good and to study the tools for achieving this demonstration.  Emphasis is given to use of the law, mental equivalents, spiritual mind treatment and the everyday qualities of living a spiritual life.  Worksheets are fun and the Oneness game makes the class interactive and personally relevant.

Self Mastery - The Emergence of the True Self - The focus of this class is on healing the perceived separation between personality and Spirit.  Through an active exploration of the creative nature of thoughts and feelings, beliefs and emotions, the students have the opportunity to gain mastery in the art of living as a conscious, intentional being.

Practitioner Studies Year 1 - Living the Principles - Entry into practitioner studies is by interview with the minister to ascertain spiritual readiness and vision.
The first year of Professional Practitioner Studies is devoted to advancing spiritual awareness and expanding the student's understanding of his/her relation to the Universe.  It is designed to be whole and complete within itself, preparing the student to live life more fully, whether or not s/he chooses to continue with Practitioner II Studies, and to license as a Professional Practitioner.

Practitioner Studies Year II - The Life of the Professional Practitioner - Entry into year two is by interview with the minister as well as successful completion of year one.
The second year of Professional Studies focuses on the consciousness, the skills, and responsibilities of the Professional Practitioner, as well as the relationship of the Professional Practitioner to the principles we teach, to the client, to the process in healing, to the church, the community and the world.
Length of class:  30 weeks each year - 60 total
Certification hours:  90 each year - 180 total
Textbooks: 9 books plus workbook each year - 18 books total
Tuition:  $500.00 plus books each year, plus testing, application and graduation fees second year.
